David Mubiru Luyima is a certified professional mechanic with deep expertise across all vehicle makes and models — from everyday saloons and 4×4s to heavy-duty commercial vehicles. His pursuit of mastery took him across the world, acquiring specialised automotive knowledge in Japan, Germany, England and the United States, gaining first-hand exposure to the most advanced vehicle technologies and workshop standards on the planet. It was this wealth of international expertise that he brought back to Kampala, founding KO-HOSHIKO over 15 years ago with a clear mission: to give every Ugandan driver access to world-class vehicle care — with honest pricing, precision workmanship, and a garage that genuinely cares.

Beyond the workshop floor, David is a recognised force in Uganda's automotive skills development landscape. He has served as a trainer at Jinja Vocational Institute and Nakawa Vocational Institute, equipping aspiring technicians with the practical skills needed to thrive in the field. He further contributes to the sector through the Ministry of Education and Sports, supporting the delivery of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) — helping shape the next generation of qualified automotive professionals across the country.
